Dog Stripping Tools

If you are taking care of a dog with a wired coat, stripping is an important part of the grooming process. Using stripping tools will help remove dead hair and stimulate the skin beneath, maintaining a healthy coat. These tools work by removing dead hair from the topcoat without causing damage to the undercoat. To properly strip the hair, comb it out in small sections, making sure to go with the grain of the hairs gently and removing any hairs from the tool as you go. Dog stripping tools are especially beneficial if you are keeping your dog’s coat maintained for competition, as they will allow you to achieve the ideal look. Stripping or clipping around the face is best left to professional groomers, but stripping tools can also be used in home grooming by the experienced dog owner.
