Artero Blades

Creating the right style and length of coat depends a lot on finding the right size Artero clipper blades for your clippers. Artero is a top-of-the-line clipper brand that treats its blades to ensure they last longer. They work with snap-on types of clippers and are easy to take on and off.

Frank Rowe & Sones Inc. carries a wide selection of dog grooming clipper blades from Artero. Fashioned from high-end steel, these blades provide the durability you need for your professional grooming business. You need easy-to-swap blades to get the right size for the right dog. When you purchase Artero blades, you receive the high quality we demand from all our products. Plus, since we are an authorized dealer, you receive a valid warranty on the product.

How to Select the Right Artero Blade for Your Clipper Size

Giving your customers' dogs the right cut is a critical part of your business. Some have specific requests for their dogs' grooming, though others may leave it to your judgment. To get the results they want, you need to have a variety of clipper sizes on hand. But which ones should you buy?

We hear from many groomers wondering how to choose the right clipper blade. You can call us to discuss your needs, or you can use these two pieces of information to help you determine the answer.

1. Size

The number on a blade indicates the different length of a cut, such as "9mm" or "6mm." The mm refers to the approximate length of the coat that will be left after trimming.

2. Fine Tooth vs. Skip Tooth

We sell two types of blades:

  • Fine-tooth blades: Fine-tooth blades give the hair a finer finish. They work exceptionally well for dogs with fine, fluffy hair. You can identify these blades because they typically have an F at the end of the blade number, such as "Size 5F" or "Size 7F." We do not recommend using these blades with a dog that has matted hair, as the blade will not be able to get through it.
  • Skip-tooth blades: Skip-tooth blades feed the hair into the clipper and give it a more layered look. They work best for a pre-wash cutting. You can use a short blade on a dog with matted fur.
